MOYS Youth Specialist Intern

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have an associates degree or sophomore, junior, or senior currently enrolled as an undergraduate in one of the social sciences, social work, education, or another related field. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, which consists of part-time hours, occasional weekends and special events.

 

Summary of Position:

Interns will assist Youth Specialist in conducting group sessions, maintaining attendance and program-related records, and service project ideas at designated site.

In addition, Interns will have to create and plan a program event for all students as an office project during their tenure. They will need to collaborate with MOYS Staff and community partners to execute a beneficial program for students. Some examples would be a youth summit, youth festival, or lecture series. Monthly stipend provided.

 

Job Responsibilities:

➢ Serve as an assistant facilitator for the Memphis Ambassadors Program

➢ Be a positive leader for students

➢ Function as an advocate for students by recognizing the problems, concerns, and opinions of individuals and presenting the student’s viewpoints to the appropriate program staff

➢ Engage students to meet personal goals and objectives

➢ Create and plan a program event for all students under the Memphis Ambassadors

Program umbrella

➢ Present end of internship analysis of the Memphis Ambassadors Program

➢ Performs other duties as assigned
