Spanish Resource and Translation Intern

Spanish Resource and Translation Intern Fall 2024

TO APPLY

Description

We're looking for dedicated and passionate interns to join our Spanish Resource and Translation Team for Fall 2024!

We are InReach, a trans-led tech nonprofit building the world’s first open source platform matching LGBTQ+ people facing persecution or discrimination with safe, verified resources. Our free platform offers instant access to critical services such as housing, medical and mental health care, legal help, trans-focused services, meal assistance, education, employment, translation, community, and spiritual support. Available on web, iOS, and Android, InReach lists thousands of services across North America, with new verified services added daily by trained volunteers. We aim to be a comprehensive digital one-stop-shop for the intersectional LGBTQ+ community, serving LGBTQ+ asylum seekers, refugees, and other immigrants, BIPOC communities, the TGNC community, youth and caregivers, and more.

As an InReach Spanish Resource Team Intern, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining and expanding our platform. You will use your online research, community outreach, data entry, and translation skills to help InReach connect thousands more:

  • LGBTQ+ families fleeing hostile states to safe relocation assistance, housing, mental health support for caregivers, and gender-affirming care options.
  • LGBTQ+ young people experiencing homelessness or facing family or community rejection due to their identity to safe housing, food and hygiene items, drop-in centers, and affirming spiritual support.
  • LGBTQ+ asylum seekers, refugees, and other immigrants to verified, affirming legal services, translation and interpretation assistance, language classes, trauma-informed mental health care providers, and more.
  • TGNC people to lifesaving gender-affirming care, support groups, safe housing, hygiene necessities, and legal providers with expertise in working with TGNC clients.

This is an exciting opportunity to be on the front lines of growing and maintaining the free InReach platform. We’re looking for meticulous, hard-working students who are passionate about LGBTQ+ rights, trans justice, and refugee rights.
