Content Writer Intern

Job Description:
Resilience, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to improving the mental health of students, as well as reducing mass shootings, suicide, and depression. Resilience, Inc also works to combat declining test scores, low student engagement, and a slew of other social issues. 
  
Our organization focuses on offering Social Emotional Learning tools to enable K-12 schools to teach emotional intelligence through five core topics; self-awareness, self-control, social awareness, relationship manageEWGRIYPment, goal setting, and effective decision-making. Resilience, Inc. also provides tools for acquiring and maintaining inspiration, hope, and overall well-being.  

Our mission is to teach SEL at every school in the country. Resilience offers internship programs that require at least a 4 month commitment with a minimum of 5 hours per week. There are flexible start and end dates with the option to continue after meeting the minimum requirement

Some educational institutions require prior approval before the start of an internship. It is the responsibility of the student to check with their institution to be sure they meet any requirements before they accept a position.

We are seeking a passionate and talented individual to join our team as an unpaid Content Writer Intern. In this role, you will assist in creating workshop guides via Google Docs and Google Slides for both teacher and non-teacher professional development. This internship provides an excellent opportunity to develop your writing skills, gain experience in content creation, and contribute to the growth of our organization.
Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the content team to create workshop guides for professional development programs.
  • Utilize Google Docs and Google Slides to develop visually engaging and informative materials.
  • Conduct thorough research on various topics related to professional development.
  • Write clear, concise, and compelling content for workshop guides.
  • Ensure that the content is accurate, well-structured, and aligned with the organization's objectives.
  • Incorporate interactive elements, such as activities or discussion questions, to enhance the workshop guides.
  • Revise and edit content based on feedback and suggestions from the content team.
  • Collaborate with the design team to ensure visual consistency and aesthetics in the workshop guides.
  • Familiarize yourself with Google Drive, Google Slides, Google Docs, and other relevant tools.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in professional development.
  • Meet project deadlines and manage your time effectively.
Requirements:
  • Excellent written communication skills with a strong command of grammar and spelling.
  • Familiarity with Google Drive, Google Slides, Google Docs, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong research skills and the ability to gather information from reliable sources.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to present complex ideas in a simple and engaging manner.
  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy and consistency in content creation.
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative, while also being a collaborative team player.
  • Basic knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning theories (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Professional background or previous experience in professional development (preferred but not mandatory).
