We are offering an opportunity for teacher trainees to gain experience teaching online: to fulfill teaching practice (practicum/internship) requirements for certificate or degree programs, to gain more virtual classroom experience to further their teaching career, and to have the opportunity to observe professionally-taught lessons in conjunction with teaching practice.

Online instruction occurs in a live video format (on Zoom) so that students can interact with their instructor and peers, doing partner and group work and participating in all-class discussions. Our live online courses are non-credit bearing and are designed to help our international students improve their English-speaking skills. The majority of our students are high school-aged.

As an Online Intern Teacher, you will teach speaking-focused English as a Foreign Language lessons to groups of international students. We will provide you with the following:

  • The curriculum and full lesson plans. It may be possible to design your own lesson plans based on our lesson objectives if required by your certificate- or degree-awarding institution (lesson plan approval required).
  • The opportunity to record the lessons, if needed, to allow for self-reflection and/or institutional feedback.
  • Additional, recorded lessons taught by professional instructors for your observation (if needed).
  • A certificate at the completion of your practice experience that includes the number of practice teaching hours completed.

Schedule
Each course is 10 hours and are held as one-hour or two-hour classes. Some may be held weekly, some may be held twice a week, etc. over the course of several weeks.
Classes are generally held between the hours of 10:00am-2:30pm EST / 7:00am-11:30am PST on weekdays.

Interns are scheduled based on their availability. Class days, times, and weeks are subject to enrollment.
