Marketing and Events Intern
Position Title: Downtown Holland Marketing and Events Internship
Position Grade: Part-Time Seasonal
Pay Rate: $15.00 Per Hour
Reports to: Principal Shopping District Coordinator
Job Summary: Under the direction of the Principal Shopping District Coordinator, the Marketing and Events Intern is responsible for assisting in the planning, on-site management, and marketing of summer events in Downtown Holland and at the Holland Farmers Market.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists in the planning of special events in Downtown Holland and at the Holland Farmers Market and provides onsite management of the weekly Market Kids Activities on Wednesday mornings and the Street Performer Series on Thursday evenings.
- Assists with marketing and promotion responsibilities, which may include creating newsletter, social media, and website content, writing press releases, communicating with Downtown businesses and other vendors, and attending stakeholder meetings.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Current college student or recent graduate in the field of hospitality, recreation, tourism, or marketing.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative, while gathering direction and input from supervisor.
Working Conditions:
- Outside working conditions with exposure to hot or cold weather conditions, along with a typical office environment.
