The Art Programs Intern will have the opportunity to assist ACT’s program team with multiple facets of youth and adult programming: art project planning, heading up one-time events, maintaining the studio and art supplies, assisting the teaching artist, engaging students in class, and supporting community art exhibits. Potential to oversee a weekly art class, Creative Cube event (mobile art studio), school program or hospital program.

Duties & Educational Opportunities

  • Program assistance and oversight; including prepping materials, heavy lifting, setting up the studio, tear down of materials and studio furniture, project/lesson creation
  • Contribute content to social media platforms and ideas for promotional materials to promote events
  • Participate in recruitment and training of volunteers to support events and event preparations
  • Office administrative assistance

Reports to: Program Coordinator or Program Director 

 

Time

Minimum 10 hours/week (consistent weekly schedule, with some exceptions for special events)

Preferred hours include:

Generally between the hours of 9am - 5pm Monday through Friday

  • Monday and/or Tuesday evening until 7pm
  • Flexibility for pre-planned special events outside of business hours

 

Skills & Characteristics

  • Positive can-do attitude
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented
  • Passionate about the mission of ACT; contributes to exciting and inclusive programming for people of all abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
