LGBTQ+ Victory Institute's Victory Congressional Internship, designed for LGBTQ+ students, is offering a life-changing opportunity for outstanding students like you. Join us for an 8-week internship on Capitol Hill, along with weekly leadership development activities in the heart of Washington, DC.

About the Internship:

The Victory Congressional Internship aims to develop the next generation of LGBTQ+ public leaders by providing hands-on experience and valuable insights into the federal legislative process. You will have the chance to intern with a member of the Congressional Equality Caucus or an LGBTQ-friendly member of the U.S. Congress, learning firsthand how policy decisions are made at the highest level.

Empowering LGBTQ+ Leaders:

We are committed to nurturing informed decision-makers and influential leaders who can bring about positive change in their communities and beyond. To ensure you can fully focus on your growth and development, we provide a stipend, cover transportation to and from D.C, and pay for your travel within the city. Financial concerns should not stand in the way of your aspirations – LGBTQ+ Victory Institute provides housing at no cost to you.

A Comprehensive Leadership Program:

Our internship program is not just about the internship itself. It includes a weekly educational and leadership development program that spans various policy-making careers. Engage with subject-matter experts from diverse working sectors across the District of Columbia, exploring topics such as personal leadership, LGBTQ+ history and advocacy, community engagement and service, and public policy.

International LGBTQ Leaders Conference:

In December 2026, you will have the unique opportunity to attend LGBTQ+ Victory Institute’s annual International LGBTQ+ Leaders Conference. Join hundreds of out LGBTQ+ leaders in government, politics, advocacy, business, and community organizations for three days of training, skills-building, networking, and engaging discussions.

Program Dates and Expectations:

The summer program will begin with move-in on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, and will run through move-out on Sunday, July 26, 2025. As a committed intern, you are expected to be available to work during traditional business hours, approximately 40 hours per week.
